Hard blow for Putin’s Black Sea Fleet? According to Ukrainian reports, a Russian landing ship was badly hit in a drone attack in Novorossiysk – Moscow denied.

According to information from Kiev, a landing ship was severely damaged in a Ukrainian sea drone attack on the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. A video of the operation shows how a sea drone from the SBU secret service, loaded with 450 kilograms of explosives, attacks the enemy ship, several Ukrainian media quoted an informant as saying.

The ship is said to have had a crew of around 100 men. The Russian Defense Ministry had confirmed a drone strike in Novorossiysk but claimed it had been repelled.

In the published video, the attack can be seen from a drone perspective until just before the ship’s wall. It is said to have been a joint operation by the SBU and the Ukrainian Navy, as reported in the media Kyiv further reported. Later pictures showed the 1976 commissioned landing ship “Olenegorski gornjak” (Olenegorsk miner) in an inclined position in the Bay of Novorossiysk. According to Russian information, there was no damage.

According to official Russian information, there was no damage. But even pro-war Russian military bloggers have published photos and videos of the ship being lopsided and writing about the damage.

Ukraine has been braving a Russian invasion for more than 17 months with Western help. Ukraine has also repeatedly attacked Russian ships and the bridge to the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, which was annexed in 2014, with remote-controlled sea drones. Last year, the country sank the “Moskva”, the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, with a missile strike. At that time, too, the ministry in Moscow initially downplayed the goal.
