In Hamburg, King Charles enjoys a beer
King Charles III enjoys a beer at the end of his three-day visit to Germany.

Last day of King Charles III. in Germany: At the end, His Majesty allowed himself a small sip of draft beer.
The Elbe city of Hamburg has King Charles III. (74) and King’s wife Camilla (75) gave a warm welcome this Friday. According to police information, 5,000 people were cheering on the Rathausmarkt alone. Charles and Camilla ended the third and final day of the royal visit to Germany in the late afternoon at a reception at the British Embassy. The British monarch also enjoyed a small sip of his own draft beer.
Charles meets Lord of the Lost in Hamburg
The British Embassy had loaded in Shed 52 in the harbour. Together with around 1,000 guests, the royal couple listened to a Hamburg shanty choir and a Hamburg bagpipe band. Stefanie Hempel and her Beatles cover band “The Silver Spoons” played songs by the Beatles, who spent a formative time in the Hanseatic city in the early 1960s. A nice sign of German-British solidarity.
At the embassy reception, King Charles also met the German ESC participants Lord of the Lost. The monarch, who was clearly in a good mood, then fed a few thirsty throats with freshly tapped beer at the tap – and also took a sip of beer himself.
Directly from this event, Charles and Camilla then made their way to Hamburg Airport, where the plane with the Union Jack on the tail fin took off shortly before 6 p.m. to carry the king and queen consort back to London and thus home. His Majesty’s three-day state visit has ended.
