Concert for the European Championship in Munich: Now cheaper tickets – and more musicians announced – Munich

More musicians for less money: There are now cheaper tickets in one for the major concert on June 12th on the Theresienwiese, which is declared a fan festival and is intended to get football fans in the mood for the European Championships that begin two days later in the Fröttmaninger Arena limited number, as the concert organizer FKP Scorpio announced on Thursday. In addition to the previously offered standard price of 111.65 euros, two additional categories are added, for 99 and 69 euros, respectively, including all fees. There is even another artist to see, the German singer Tim Bendzko.

The 39-year-old, who became famous in 2011 with the song “Just Save the World for a Short Time,” will open the seven-hour spectacle. After him, the British newcomer Dylan continues to heat up the audience, followed by the German Mark Forster and the Canadian Nelly Furtado, each with one-hour performances, before the global star Ed Sheeran gives a 90-minute guest performance as the highlight of the evening – in keeping with the occasion of the whole event .

With the new admission prices, the organizer is meeting the demands of the city council, which had made a contingent of cheap tickets for low-income people a condition for the comparatively inexpensive use of Theresienwiese. The local politicians wanted as many people as possible to be able to take part in the unofficial opening event of the European Championship.

The reduced tickets are thanks to the “expected acquisition of new sponsorship money,” “which will make further subsidization of the already reduced admission price possible,” as the concert organizer explained. FKP Scorpio left it unclear on Thursday who the new donations would come from. So far, the EM backers Telekom and Bitburger have been the main sponsors of the concert.

The new categories do not change the original audience capacity of 90,000: the organizer now guarantees the owners of the most expensive tickets the shortest distance to the stage. On the cheaper seats, which are set up behind the Category 1 area, a direct view of the stage and video walls is still guaranteed.

The Theresienwiese area set aside for the concert will be opened on June 12th, a Wednesday, at 2 p.m. The music program starts at 4 p.m., Ed Sheeran is announced for 9:15 p.m.
