Concert: Faber in the Tonhalle in Munich – Munich

Live albums are very special testimonies of music history. Although their recordings are often revised, they document the musicians’ encounters with their fans. In the corona-related abstinence from concerts, live albums also served as a reminder that the actual music happening, with all due respect to great studio albums, takes place on stage. Possibly it was that abstinence that prompted the Swiss singer-songwriter Faber to present his work with a live album. “Orpheum” is the name of Faber’s live manifesto, which will be released on August 26th. With a live version of “Tausendfrankenlang” the fourth single from it has already been released. So the setlists of his Munich concerts next week will follow the tracklist of the live album, so the audience can expect a few new songs in addition to well-known and covered ones. In the opening act, Dresden-born Ansa Sauermann, who lives in Vienna by choice, sings about his love of losing control, which he recorded on his second album “Trümmerlotte” with the Voodoo Jürgens band, among others.

Faber, Tuesday, 23rd, Wednesday, 24th, and Thursday, 25th August, 8 p.m., Tonhalle
