Microsoft fixes global disruption in cloud services
Numerous Microsoft services did not work. The group reported an error when changing the network configuration.
Microsoft fixed a global outage in its cloud services after several hours on Wednesday. The group identified an error in a change in network configuration as the cause. The faulty update was then reversed, as Microsoft explained on its system status page. The services then came back online in the late morning (CET).
Among other things, the office communication platform Teams and the e-mail service Outlook.com were disrupted – but also the video game network around the Xbox console. Due to the error in the configuration, services could not communicate with the cloud infrastructure or with each other.
