Commitment to Heike Makatsch: This is the new crime scene “Blind Date” – Medien

Two women meet in the dark. One is fed up with life, the other is hungry for it. One of them never knew limits at home, there was a lot of money for that. The other wants to free herself from her father, who means well for her. One sees, the other is blind. Opposites attract, of necessity.

Such is the situation in Mainz crime scene. The women would never have got to know each other if Sophie (Anica Happich) hadn’t raided a gas station with her boyfriend (Jan Bülow). They’re riveting the cashier. For 500 euros. It’s not about the money, but about the kick. The student Rosa (Henriette Nagel) happened to be at the gas station, and she got herself two beers here every evening, her little freedom. With one percent eyesight, she is dependent on her parents, they want to protect her. This evening they meet, the good and the bad world. Rosa can describe the perpetrators, she smelled them, felt them, heard them. She doesn’t want police protection. Not more control. Your life will be dangerous, Rosa is enjoying it.

“We are also working with hope here,” says Ellen Berlinger. Your colleague laughs biliously.

“Blind Date” is no sad social porn, nor is Rosa stylized as a heroine by Wolfgang Stauch (screenplay) and Ute Wieland (director). It’s about the normally crazy life in a normally crazy society. Some see, others don’t, and some people shoot people out of boredom. The police only have to convict the perpetrators, they are known to the rest, and so the spectator goes on a journey. Into the soul of the blind Rosa, the cold Sophie, into that of the sad inspectors. “We also work with hope here,” says Ellen Berlinger (Heike Makatsch), who continues to doubt herself as a single mother, whereupon her colleague Martin Rascher (Sebastian Blomberg) laughs biliously. He has no more hope since his friend and colleague died in the service. The rich children disgust him, life in general. It is the second case for Berlinger and Rascher, They are still looking for themselves as people, they function as investigators.

Rascher’s private life remains mysterious, while that of his colleague is so complex that it competes with the story of the two women. In the end, it is much stronger, and so Berlinger needs a quick solution that fits into the 90 minutes of broadcasting. It appears almost succinct, as it changes a whole life. Meanwhile, everyone is still looking for love and hope. You will be disappointed. Naturally.
