The Social Democrats analyze, consider and debate after every defeat – and it will continue in the same way in the next election campaign. The party needs top people who don’t talk like party program language machines.
How many blows can you endure as a party that was once spoiled for success without completely drifting into a spiral of hopelessness and resignation? If you look at the result of the Munich SPD in this state election, this question almost comes to mind. After the historic disaster in the election five years ago, the Social Democrats managed to slide down again in the city. Since the 2014 local elections there has been a hail of low blows, and the Munich Social Democrats were not even able to put themselves in a positive light in the 2021 federal election, which was successful for the SPD.
