If another picture was needed that documents the break between Mesut Özil and his former homeland, then this was shared on the Instagram account of a Turkish fitness trainer over the weekend: Özil, born and raised in Gelsenkirchen, presents his abdominal muscles, which are impressive for a football professional who retired half a year ago. What can also be seen is a confession pierced under the skin: Özil has had a howling wolf and three crescents tattooed on his chest.
