Coming to terms with the NSU murders: Center for New Vigilance – Politics

Since the murders by the right-wing extremist terrorist gang NSU, there has been a lot of talk about the perpetrators – and little about the victims. This not only prolongs the pain of families, it also narrows society’s perspective. Now there is a concept for a documentation center that should change this.

A feasibility study usually has more to do with numbers than feelings. But of course, in this terrible case, feelings are a very important part of it. The right-wing extremist terrorist gang NSU murdered ten people in Germany, planted three explosive devices and robbed 15 banks. For the survivors and those left behind, according to this special study by the Federal Agency for Civic Education (BpB), the “violent experiences” did not end in 2007, with what was presumably the last murder by the NSU. No, they “continue to have an impact today” and are “continually updated”.
