The “Spiegel” had reported on alleged harassment and a “climate of fear” on the “Manta” film set. Til Schweiger now speaks out again – and is looking forward to his new comedy.

Actor After dealing with allegations about the set conditions for the “Manta-Manta” film, Til Schweiger spoke out again.

The 59-year-old told the dpa about the question of whether the timing for his new comedy “The best is yet to come!” is now overshadowed by the allegations at the time, with: “For me personally, the film is not overshadowed by that. Above all, I am happy that it is finally coming to the cinema.” The comedy, which is about two best friends and a fatal illness, was filmed before “Manta Manta – Second Part”. The new comedy hits German cinemas on Thursday.

Schweiger further told the dpa: “I am at peace with myself and I can look in the mirror in the morning, despite the mistakes I have made and for which I have taken responsibility. Not everyone does that.”

The 59-year-old, who is one of the most famous actors and directors in Germany, added: “I have often asked myself how these people can look in the mirror. About the allegations in “Spiegel” that were made against the production and, above all, against After I was raised, there wasn’t really much left, so as always, I’m just looking forward.”

In the spring, “Spiegel” reported on alleged harassment and a “climate of fear” on the “Manta” film set. The production company Constantin Film initiated a review, and an external law firm presented a mixed result. Schweiger then commented in detail in an interview with “Stern” in October. In it he said, among other things: “I don’t want anyone to be afraid of me.” He also talked about his alcohol problems and explained that he was in therapy.
