comedians mourn the death of Guillaume Bats

The comedians pay homage to Guillaume Bats, who had made self-mockery and black humor his trademark.

Tributes rain down, a few hours after the announcement of the death of Guillaume Bats. The 36-year-old comedian suffered from brittle bone disease and never stopped mocking his physique and his career in his sketches. Many of his comedian colleagues today salute his stainless self-mockery. Just like the Minister of Culture Rima Abdul-Malakwho salutes this “champion of self-mockery”.

“Rest in peace my @guillaume_bats I will miss our battles of handicapped vs black valves. You were the king of self-mockery and ‘We can laugh at everything and I’ll fuck you!'”, thus tweeted the actor and comic Donel Jack’sman.

Anne Roumanoff praised on Twitter: “We told you ‘It’s impossible. Look at yourself finally’ You made it. You made whole rooms laugh. Self-mockery and dark humor not to cry. You helped thousands of people to accept each other. Goodbye Guillaume Bats”.

“It’s never fun to lose someone funny, especially when it was an 8th dan of self-mockery. RIP in peace the G,” reacted comedian Pablo Mira on Instagram.

“So devastated by the loss of my #guillaumebats! I will no longer be entitled to my ‘How are you, honey?’ when you called me. I think about you a lot !! And a thought for your loved ones”, tweeted Cauet.

The Montreux Comedy comedy festival, where Guillaume Bats performed on several occasions, also expressed his “infinite sadness”, at the announcement of his disappearance.

Comedian Arnaud Tsamère posted a photo of himself with Guillaume Bats on Instagram, and these few words:

“Hi Guillaume. And thank you for all these moments. I will think of you every time I put on a dress.”

The image is taken from a sketch with Baptiste Lecaplain in the role of Aladdin, Jérémy Ferrari in that of the genius, Arnaud Tsamère in the costume of Princess Jasmine and Guillaume Bats disguised as Abu the monkey.

“I think of your grief,” commented Alex Lutz. “Sadness,” wrote Nicole Ferroni. “No,” exclaimed Virginie Hocq.

The “Official God” parody account on Twitter wrote:

“I just learned of the death of Guillaume Bats, one of the best of you. At least we’ll have a good laugh in Paradise.”
