Column by Norbert Frei: The “compensation” 70 years ago – opinion

A few Germans and Israelis are cautiously exploring possible compensation options. The secret contacts are followed by months of negotiations, official and tough. The sentences do not refer to the planned memorial for the eleven Israelis who fell into the violence of a Palestinian commando at the Olympic Games in Munich 50 years ago and were killed, nine of them them only during the catastrophically unsuccessful attempt to free them at the Fürstenfeldbruck airfield.
