Donald Trump is an insurrectionist, the state Supreme Court rules. He will therefore no longer be allowed to run for president in the next primaries in Colorado. Trump now wants to call on the Supreme Court in Washington for help.
He still calls them upstanding patriots, his supporters who occupied the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 to prevent the election of Joe Biden as the new US President. The courts see it a little differently than Donald Trump. They have already convicted 723 defendants in connection with the storming of the Capitol, two-thirds of whom ended up in prison.
