Shortly after each other, the corpses of a woman and that of her child were discovered in a Cologne port and in the Rhine. The police assume a homicide and arrested the ex-boyfriend of the dead.

The bodies of a woman and her child were discovered in a Cologne port and in the Rhine in quick succession. On Monday, officers from the Cologne water police pulled the dead woman out of the Rhine at Niehler Hafen.

Seafarers in the port had previously notified the officials. Initial findings suggest that the injuries to her body indicated a violent crime. Her four-year-old son was missing and was searched for with divers, among other things.
