Collective bargaining dispute – eight percent more targeted – economy

In view of the high inflation, IG Metall wants to demand eight percent more money for employees in the metal and electrical industry in the forthcoming round of collective bargaining. This was decided by the wage commissions of the districts of North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, the Coast, Central and Baden-Württemberg. In July, the IG Metall board wants to decide on the nationwide demand. The collective agreements for the industry expire on September 30th. Warning strikes are possible after October 28. Some politicians warn that sharp wage increases could further fuel inflation.
