Collective bargaining agreement with the railway: The train driver who doesn’t need the 35-hour week – business

Stefan Bock drives regional trains, often in the middle of the night. He doesn’t want to reduce his working hours, but he still likes the GDL’s collective bargaining agreement.

But you’re really lucky that you can reach him on the phone, says Stefan Bock – he’s going to bed soon. What, go to bed at quarter past five in the afternoon? “It’s late for me,” says Bock. His alarm goes off at one in the morning. Then first coffee, work starts at 2:51 a.m. at Munich Central Station. He then takes the train out of the depot, checks the brakes and checks whether the doors close properly. And then we set off with the regional train, leaving for Regensburg at 4.55 a.m.
