Collecting donations for Canaletto – Munich

Gondolas decorated with gold, packed with dressed-up ladies and gentlemen, carriages, strollers – Nymphenburg Palace and its park never looked more Venetian than in the painting by a certain Bernardo Bellotto, known as Canaletto. In 1761, during a stay in Munich, he created three large-format vedute.

The restoration of the so-called Bellotto Room in the Munich Residence is currently underway. Donations will be collected at a benefit concert hosted by the Bavarian Palace Administration on Saturday, November 11th at 7 p.m. in the Max Joseph Hall of the Residence. The program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach and his son Carl Philipp Emanuel. Admission is free. Info at www.residenz-muenchen.de.
