The hit “Atemlos durch die Nacht” is ten years old. It’s high time for a refresher. For the new edition, Helene Fischer brings a “pioneer” in German rap on board.

Pop singer Helene Fischer (39) performs her hit “Atemlos durch die Nacht”, which was released ten years ago, together with the rapper Shirin David (28) new. The song will be released this Thursday at 11:59 p.m., the two musicians announced on their respective Instagram channels.

Both also published a video of the recording together and did not skimp on mutual recognition. “It’s so amazing for me that I can be a part of it,” said Shirin. “This is a huge dream.” Every artist in Germany dreams of working with Helene Fischer. She returned the praise: “I think she’s incredibly great as a person and I like her as an artist,” Fischer enthused about Shirin David, who is a “pioneer” in German rap.

“Atemlos durch die Nacht” was released at the end of November 2013 and is considered one of the most successful German-language hits. And it accompanied special moments: in 2014, Helene Fischer sang the hit at the reception of the German soccer world champions on the fan mile in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. On Saturday, Fischer and David will perform their rap version of “Atemlos” at Thomas Gottschalk’s last “Wetten, dass…?” edition.
