Both Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson are said to have been infected with Corona and will therefore probably miss the Critics Choice Awards.
Several stars are unlikely to attend the annual Critics Choice Awards on January 15th. Allegedly, both Colin Farrell (46) and Brendan Gleeson (67) will not be able to walk the red carpet because they are said to have tested positive for an infection with the corona virus. That writes Marc Malkin from the US industry magazine “Variety” on Twitter.
The two stars of “The Banshees of Inisherin” are nominated at the 28th Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles – Farrell for Best Actor, Gleeson for Best Supporting Actor. The work of Martin McDonagh (52) could also win the award for best film. “The Banshees of Inisherin” was recently awarded “Best Film – Musical or Comedy” and Best Screenplay at the Golden Globes. Also, the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) went to Lead Actor Farrell. Gleeson was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, but lost out to Ke Huy Quan (51, “Everything Everywhere All at Once”).
Jamie Lee Curtis has also been infected
Jamie Lee Curtis (64) had previously announced that she would not be attending several events, including the Critics Choice Awards, in the coming days. “Damn Covid! Unfortunately, this chief cheerleader will not be able to attend the weekend’s celebrations to cheer on her friends and colleagues,” the actress wrote to a picture of positive corona tests on Instagram.
Nevertheless, numerous stars are of course expected at the award ceremony, which is led by comedian and actress Chelsea Handler (47). Among others, appearances by Michelle Pfeiffer (64), Kerry Washington (45), Miles Teller (35), Anya Taylor-Joy (26) and Claire Danes (43) are planned.
