Losing a loved one is terrible. If this person also fell victim to a violent crime and the relatives know that the perpetrator was never caught and the crime was never atoned for, these thoughts must be unbearable. But so-called “cold cases” never really get cold in Munich: Even after decades, investigators from the Munich Homicide Squad continue to take the cases out of the closets, study and comb through the files, and check the evidence. Giving up is not an option for the commissioners. They want to clarify the cases, for themselves and for the survivors. Because murder never expires.
