Coinbase NFT announced Wednesday that it is “pausing” future creator NFT launches. But reiterates that it will not close the market completely. “We are halting the launch of creator NFTs in the market. to focus on other features and tools requested by creators,” Coinbase NFT said on Twitter.
“We believe that ultimately These changes will bring increased focus and efficiency to the Coinbase NFT team’s ability to create sustainable products that best serve the community over the long term,” a Coinbase spokesperson said.
“Our mission for Coinbase NFT remains unchanged. And we remain optimistic about our future as we continue to build.”
It’s not clear why Coinbase NFT had to halt creator NFT launches. To launch other features, or the reason may be due to a shortage of employees, as Coinbase has been laying off employees continuously in the past year. And just last month, Coinbase said it was laying off another 950 employees.
