And suddenly there is war. Urs Fischer, 56, is sitting in a corner of the sofa in a box in the 1. FC Union Berlin stadium, which he has coached for three and a half years. “2022. And we haven’t learned anything. It’s amazing,” he says and ponders the thought for a while. Then, as agreed, he talks about the big game his team is facing on Tuesday evening: the DFB Cup quarter-finals against FC St. Pauli.
