The emblematic president of CNN Jeff Zucker announced his resignation on Wednesday, after the revelation of a hidden affair with a colleague.
“As part of the investigation into Chris Cuomo’s tenure at CNN, I was asked about a consensual relationship with a colleague I’ve worked with for over twenty years,” the president said in a post shared on Twitter by journalist Brian Stelter.
“I recognized that the relationship had evolved over the past few years. I was required to disclose it when it started, but I didn’t, I was wrong,” he admits.
Jeff Zucker symbolized the positioning of the channel, especially during the Trump presidency, but also repositioned the latter against its major competitor Fox News. He is also stepping down as president of WarnerMedia’s news and sports division.
