The municipalities of Straßlach-Dingharting and Schäftlarn have suffered a setback in their efforts to protect the climate. The joint climate protection manager Eva Kellner, who was hired almost a year ago, resigned on September 30th. With the creation of the inter-municipal body, Straßlach and Schäftlarn had broken new ground and demonstrated that smaller, rural municipalities can also tackle climate protection professionally. The aim was, among other things, to create an integrated climate protection concept for the Straßlach-Dingharting community and to initiate and support climate protection measures in both communities.
The position was initially limited to two years and provided that Eva Kellner should work two and a half days a week in both town halls. As the municipality of Straßlach-Dingharting reports, Kellner has now resigned early for personal reasons and will switch to an employer that is close to where she lives. Both communities very much regret the decision and want to fill the position as soon as possible. “Strasslach-Dingharting and Schäftlarn have agreed to continue working together in line with the purpose of the agreement,” says the statement from the Strasslach town hall.
