Climate protection: Habeck risks his credibility – economy

The renewed halt to funding at KfW shows that when climate protection gets serious, the federal government prefers to set other priorities. This could be dangerous, especially for the Greens and their Vice Chancellor.

A billion euros – that sounds like a huge sum, but in practice it can be quite little. Too little. On Wednesday, for example, one billion euros was enough for just three hours, then the support program of the state KfW bank for particularly climate-friendly new buildings was already over. It was the second funding stop this year. And again the money was gone, what remained was frustration and bitter ridicule from all those who got nothing.
