The federal government ended up in court for violating the statutory climate targets. According to information from Süddeutsche Zeitung the environmental organization BUND (Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz in Deutschland) has filed a lawsuit against the government in the Berlin-Brandenburg Higher Administrative Court. In it, the environmentalists accuse several ministries of legal violations. The lawsuit is intended to force them to tighten climate protection with emergency programs.
