Climate glue begs for money – he can no longer pay the fines | Regional

Dresden – He went to prison in Sweden for his climate fight, but continued with road blockades in Germany. But the penalties are expensive! That’s why the Dresden climate glue Christian Bläul (41) is now begging for donations.

“So far, my fines have totaled around 20,000 euros,” says the father of two. He lives extremely frugally in Gorbitz, doesn’t heat his apartment, and rides a cargo bike. All he says about his income as an IT consultant is: “I could go to the ‘Tafel’…”

The District Court of Dresden recently set a daily rate of 15 euros for the sentencing of the climate sticker – equivalent to 450 euros/month.

Bläul: “So far I’ve used my savings. If there are not many donations, I will pay off the money in installments over the years.”

On Friday another 2700 euros were added! The Berlin-Tiergarten district court sentenced him to seven roadblocks in the capital for coercion (obstructing traffic) and resisting law enforcement officers (sticking).

The trial began as a farce: “One person had posed as the accused, presented a copied summons and wanted to enter the courtroom. But she could not identify herself,” explains court spokeswoman Lisa Jani (50). The Dresdener then wanted the same man, according to Bläul a law student, as a campaign defender – rejected!

So Bläul pleaded for himself to be acquitted, but the court did not follow that. It won’t be the final punishment. Because Bläul has “a lot of free time” according to Twitter. He even spent his annual leave on the streets of Berlin, “often sticking around…”
