Climate change: No breather – southern Europe remains hot and dry

People in Greece continue to sweat at temperatures of around 40 degrees, Italy reports dramatic figures for firefighting operations – southern Europe continues to groan under the heat. And in Germany, too, the fresher days will soon be over.

While the very high heat in Germany is briefly pausing, there is no breathing space in several southern European countries. For large parts of Greece, meteorologists are expecting a long heat wave that should last until the beginning of August.
