People in Greece continue to sweat at temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius. Villages on Lesvos were evacuated because of the fires on Sunday afternoon.
The massive fires on the island of Lesbos and in the Dadia National Park in northeastern Greece continued to rage unchecked on Sunday. On Lesbos, the residents of the village of Vrisa on the south side of the island were asked to leave the village at noon.
