Clémentine Autain asks the party for more “pluralism” and “territorial anchoring”

Believing that the “gaseous” operation of La France insoumise sins, according to her, “in intermediate elections and in periods outside the election”, the LFI deputy, Clémentine Autain, asked the party, this Monday, for more “pluralism” and “ of territorial anchorage”.

In recent years, the elected representative of Seine-Saint-Denis has repeatedly criticized the functioning of the movement, dominated by the charismatic figure of Jean-Luc Mélenchon – who was twice its candidate for the presidential election after the having been for the Left Front in 2012.

A “small core of leaders”

In Monday’s blog post, three days before the start of the movement’s “Summer Amphis” in the Drôme, she is less offensive than in the past, evoking the advantages of LFI compared to traditional parties: “More flexible, action-oriented, very offensive on social networks, rid of the internal battles of Congress, our movement has been able to embrace some of the demands of our time”. But she regrets the “gaseous” organization: “The places of decision-making remain vague, the space for strategic debate is not identified, the partition between the local and the national deserves to be redefined”.

Clémentine Autain observes that “the method of operation adopted has proven to be effective above all during the presidential campaign, with its impact on the legislative elections. The results are less positive in intermediate elections and in non-election periods”. She deplores the permanence of a “small core of leaders” which goes against the “diversity” and the “plurality” that she wishes. The MP advocates “the combination of consensus and pluralism”, with votes in the event of a blockage.

Better co-ordination

Clémentine Autain also proposes that the “action groups”, which bring together rebellious activists locally, be better coordinated among themselves: “It is necessary that LFI also exists on this scale, that of a city, an agglomeration, a “country”, a department or even a region”.

Finally, Clémentine Autain hopes that the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes), the coalition for the LFI legislative elections with the Socialist Party, EELV, the PCF and Generations, will be “sustainable”. First through “district assemblies” animated in a pluralist way, but also with the “Parliament of Nupes”, existing but whose future is uncertain.
