Clément Noël dominates the first round of the Chamonix slalom

Still a fan this season in slalom, Clément Noël will have a good opportunity to open his account in Chamonix on Sunday. The Frenchman was indeed the fastest during the first round held on the Verte des Houches. Starting with bib no. 2, the man who is currently 4th in the specialty World Cup rankings, with 212 points, far from Austrian leader Manuel Feller, set a time of 47.09.

“It went well, I had a good feeling, the snow was very good to ski and I had a good bibcommented Noel. I accelerated gradually, I was smart on the slightly more turning part. But the second round will be a little more difficult with softer snow. »

The gaps are nevertheless tight and the second round, from 12:30 p.m., promises to be intense. No less than ten skiers stand in one second, and big customers are very close to the Frenchman. Notably the Norwegian Timon Haugan, 3rd in the World Cup, 2nd at 23 hundredths, and Feller, 3rd at 40 hundredths. The German Linus Strasser, winner of the last two slaloms, missed out with a delay of 1″24, and seems excluded from the race for victory. Steven Amiez managed to do better, finishing 1 “14 from his compatriot.
