Bedbugs are coming to the Ministry of Transport. Clément Beaune will bring together the main transport operators and user associations this Wednesday to discuss the sensitive subject of these insects, reported in recent weeks on trains and in the Paris metro.
The meeting must be held from 11:30 a.m. at the ministry, instead of 11:00 a.m. as initially announced. “The objective is to take stock following the reports received, to objectify the situation and to strengthen measures. We want to inform people about the actions taken and act more to serve travelers. To reassure and protect,” the Ministry of Transport said on Tuesday.
Among the companies, organizations or associations convened are the SNCF, the RATP, the employers’ organization of public and rail transport UTP, the National Federation of Passenger Transport (FNTV), the Union of French Airports (UAF), the Federation National Association of Aviation and its Professions (FNAM) as well as the National Federation of Transport User Associations (FNAUT).
Growing resistance to insecticides
The presence of bedbugs has recently been reported in cinemas, TGV trains, the Paris metro and the waiting area at Roissy airport. But not all of these cases are proven.
