Classic and Corona: How opera houses fight for their audience – culture

Of

Helmut Mauro

We remember: It was hard for opera lovers, theatergoers and concertgoers when the houses suddenly had to close during the first Corona wave. Earlier than other facilities, and much longer than feared and initially planned. So the joy should be all the greater if one day everything could go back to the way it was before. Now the time has come, at least temporarily. Almost all houses are playing under normal conditions again, some still with a mask requirement, but without restricting the number of visitors. Only: the audience hesitates, the ranks remain occupied incompletely.
