On Monday, classes were suspended in a high school in Tourcoing, in the North, after threats of attack, while five other establishments in the Lille metropolis, targeted by similar messages, are welcoming students again, announced the rectorate .
“The Colbert high school in Tourcoing is the only one not to welcome students [lundi matin], the removal of doubt is still in progress,” specified the communications department of the Lille rectorate. The others, the Le Corbusier and Sévigné high schools, also in Tourcoing, Baudelaire and Jean-Moulin, in Roubaix, and Emile-Zola, in Wattrelos, “welcome the students again and classes are gradually resuming”. Last week, the Cousteau high school in Wasquehal was also targeted, according to the same source.
Similar threats last year
All these establishments received the same type of attack threat messages “via Pronote, the ENT [espace numérique servant de lien entre enseignants, élèves et parents] or social networks,” specifies the institution, recalling that establishments had already received threats during the 2022-2023 school year.
In January, an investigation was opened in Paris after threats of a bomb or explosive attack were made on hacked ENTs, leading to the evacuation of around twenty educational establishments in France. A few weeks later, three teenagers were indicted as part of this investigation.
Since the start of the school year, many schools have been evacuated throughout France due to threats of this type. In Rennes, a 15-year-old teenager must be tried in December, suspected of having sent an email containing a threat of attack against a high school.
