What is the “green pass”?
In force since February and valid, for the moment, until the end of the year, this document conditions access to certain places. To obtain it, Israelis over the age of 16 must present a vaccination certificate or be in remission from the coronavirus. People who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons must present a certificate from their health insurance and a negative test.
Adolescents and children under 16 are also included in this device: to obtain this document, they must present a negative test. Babies under one year old are included in their parents’ green pass.

To share a meal inside a restaurant, the pass is necessary even in the green areas of the country. To dine or have lunch outside in these same areas, however, this document is not required.
Israel recently relaxed the conditions for access to restaurants: before May 6, children could not to eat there inside.
No green pass for family celebrations, but a limited number of guests
Alexandra Henrion-Claude argued that “guests at bar mitzvahs […] can’t go because they don’t have their green badge. “
In cities classified as green, bar mitzvahs with catering are subject to presentation of a green pass.
The Israeli Ministry of Health also details that the green passit’s not mandatory for family celebrations. However, gatherings are limited to 50 people indoors and 500 outdoors in these green areas.
