“Travelling and reading belong together,” writes publisher Lojze Wieser in the foreword to the Barcelona volume. Anyone who visits a region or, as in this case, a city, understands them and their inhabitants better if they have already read about them: in loving or malicious literary descriptions, in empathetic, differentiated, informed literary reflections that reflect the realities also those behind the facades.
