City of Munich announces environmental prize – Munich

The city of Munich is again announcing the environmental prize after a break of several years caused by the pandemic. It is worth 10,000 euros and the application deadline is July 7th. “Innovative ideas and projects or lifetime achievements that stand for a sustainable, ecological Munich are worthy of the award,” says the climate department. Certain criteria should be met: benefits for the environment, innovation, role model character, effectiveness and the connection to Munich. The call for applications is aimed at private individuals, companies, schools, technical colleges, universities, clubs, associations, private and voluntary initiatives.

A jury made up of ten honorary city council members and Christine Kugler, climate and environmental protection officer, decides who receives the award. With the environmental award, the city “not only wants to honor the commitment of people and companies,” explains Kugler, “we also want to use it to provide positive impetus and motivate others to deal more intensively with the topic of environmental protection in the future.”
