Experience has shown that prime ministers rarely talk about their taste in music. At the citizens’ festival in Hamburg, at least three politicians showed what they like on the dance floor.

On German Unity Day there were thoughtful words from many politicians – but some also celebrated: At At the citizens’ festival on Tuesday in Hamburg, three CDU heads of government ventured onto the dance floor. Berlin’s Governing Mayor Kai Wegner (51) and the Prime Ministers of Schleswig-Holstein and North Rhine-Westphalia, Daniel Günther (50) and Hendrik Wüst (48), danced to the Ballermann hit “Helikopter 117 (make the Hub Hub Hub)”. can be seen on a cell phone video by journalist Michael Bröcker on the online platform X (formerly Twitter).

On Tuesday, Germany celebrated the 33rd Day of German Unity centrally in Hamburg. Around 700,000 people came to a large community festival in the city center on Monday and Tuesday under the motto “Opening horizons”.
