USD Coin ( USDC ) will be available in the Cosmos ecosystem through the Noble network, according to a blog post announced by the Noble development team, and this post was shared on Twitter by USDC issuer Circle.
Neither Circle nor Noble have given a specific date for USDC’s launch on the network, but both hinted that readers should “stay tuned.”
In the announcement, the Noble team said that USDC will be “the native stablecoin backed by a highly liquid and fully secured digital currency” on a network connected to the Cosmos Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol. There are many challenges that Cosmos users have today when trying to link assets from one network to another.
“This will fuel hundreds of millions of dollars of liquidity in the coming months in Cosmos and will seek to solve the challenges faced by users and appchains when interacting with bridged assets sourced from other ecosystems. […] Every blockchain needs a standard and interoperable version of USDC, and Noble exists to meet this critical need.”
Noble is one of more than 50 networks in the Cosmos IBC ecosystem, according to Mintscan.
