The fruitful working relationship between actress Emma Stone and director Giorgos Lanthimos continues: “Kinds of Kindness” is scheduled to be released in cinemas at the beginning of the summer.

Emma Stone won the Oscar for best actress on Sunday for her leading role in “Poor Things” directed by Giorgos Lanthimos – their next project together will be coming out soon. The film “Kinds of Kindness” will be released in US cinemas on June 21st, the production company Searchlight Pictures announced. In addition to Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Joe Alwyn and Mamoudou Athie also star. Filming for the sci-fi episodic film took place in New Orleans at the end of 2022. The contents are largely under wraps.

The Greek director Lanthimos previously brought the Hollywood star in front of the camera for the shrill moral comedy “The Favorite – Intrigue and Madness”, which was nominated for ten Oscars in 2019. In “Poor Things,” Stone plays a woman named Bella who is implanted with a baby’s brain. Under the supervision of a quirky scientist (Willem Dafoe), she gets to know the world in a new way – and begins to keep aggressive men at bay.

Another joint feature film project is planned, as the industry publication “Variety” reported at the end of February. Accordingly, Stone could take on a role in a black comedy that Lanthimos is planning as a remake of the South Korean fantasy comedy “Save the Green Planet” (2003). Filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
