Christmas magic in Taufkirchen – District of Munich

Light, shine, enchantment: two fairy-like ice princesses dancing on stilts illuminate the evening hustle and bustle on the town hall square in Taufkirchen. Yes, the world of Christmas characters encompasses so much more than a friendly fat boy with a bushy white beard who goes “Hoho” or a red-nosed reindeer named Rudi. There are no limits to the imagination and this also fits the motto “flake magic” of the Taufkirchner Christkindlmarkt, which festively illuminated the town center on the second weekend in December and released the scent of mulled wine, sausages and cinnamon into the streets. The meteorological magic did not ideally correspond to the maxim of the Christmas market, but even without falling snowflakes, visitors big and small must have felt at home. For the latter there was even a nostalgic carousel this year. In addition, numerous exhibitors offered handicrafts and presented original gift ideas. In addition to regional delicacies, a supporting program was offered in the hall of the cultural center and in the open air on the stage with music and singing. And yes, Santa Claus also made an appearance.
