Prime Video has announced the release date of the upcoming holiday edition of LOL: Last One Laughing. This festive offshoot of the successful comedy series will be available on the streaming portal from December 22nd.

The Christmas special of “LOL: Laughing out Loud” will be available to watch on Amazon Prime starting December 22nd. In his usual manner, the charismatic host Michael Bully Herbig (55) will invite numerous familiar faces to the “LOL” mountain chalet. But this time there is a special twist: In the “XMAS Special” the stars will not compete as individuals, but in teams under the motto “Silent Night. Nobody Laughs”. These teams are made up of the following comedy greats: Anke Engelke (57) and Bastian Pastewka (51), Carolin Kebekus (43) and Teddy Teclebrhan (40), Martina Hill (49) and Kurt Krömer (48) as well as Michelle Hunziker (46) and Rick Kavanian (52). Under the festively decorated Christmas tree, they have the challenge of suppressing any laughter for more than three hours. A truly tricky task, especially as the other teams will do everything they can to make their fellow competitors smile. An interesting question arises: Do Anke Engelke and Kurt Krömer have an advantage since they are appearing on the show for the fourth time?

The winning team of this special edition will receive the coveted “LOL-XMAS” trophy and the opportunity to donate 50,000 euros to charity.

Three seasons and a Christmas edition

It is worth noting that the first season of the German version of “LOL” debuted in April 2021 and is an adaptation of the format originally from Japan. The German version gained an immense fan base over the last two years, resulting in three more seasons as well as the upcoming Christmas special. In 2022, the show was awarded the German Television Prize in the “Best Comedy/Late Night” category. Fans can already look forward to the fifth season next year.
