Christian Thielemann and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra perform Anton Bruckner’s Fifth in the Herkulessaal – enthusiastically applauded. About someone who understands Bruckner’s symphony battle as an opera without words.
The conductor Christian Thielemann has gotten a little lost in Munich since he left the Munich Philharmonic twelve years ago. Now Thielemann has a new love in Munich, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. With them he has already given a reduced concert due to Corona, but now he, enthusiastically acclaimed by the audience, conducted Anton Bruckner’s combative Fifth in the almost sold-out Herkulessaal. Almost 20 years ago, he started with this piece as head of the Philharmoniker, at that time in the Gasteig Philharmonic, which was closed at the time.
