Christian Stückl directs Thomas Melle’s “Pictures of Us” – Culture

The light goes on like a bang, glistening bright, the stage radiant white. Information booms from the off. 23-page interim report, Jesuit school, abuse, even in the confessional, pressure on the victims, photo collection, suspicion among the Regensburg cathedral sparrows. It could go on forever, but it doesn’t. Every Catholic institution, whether boarding school, boys’ choir or school, has long been suspected of being abused. So it only takes two examples to refer to the unbelievably large whole, and one is reminded of the many stunned reports from the past few years. At the Munich Volkstheater, artistic director and Christian Stückl have now staged “Pictures of Us” by Thomas Melle.
