Chris Dixon of a16z joins OpenSea Board of Directors

a16z’s Chris Dixon has joined the board of OpenSea, the popular NFT token trading platform, according to a blog post published Saturday.

“I am excited to officially welcome Chris Dixon to the OpenSea Board of Directors,” co-founder Devin Finzer wrote on the blog. “Chris has been a huge influence in shaping our views on web3.”

Chris Dixon will replace former a16z venture capitalist Katie Haun, with Haun joining the board of NFT in July 2021, after the venture capitalist led $100 million in Series B funding. And she left a16z to launch Haun Ventures, which reportedly raised $1.5 billion in new funding.

“Katie has been a valuable figure at OpenSea over the years,” Finzer writes, “and thanks to her long relationship with Chris, she has been able to carry on a smooth transition and remain close to us as an investor. Invest through Haun Ventures.”
