In “Choose Love” you decide how the story ends. Sounds great? It is. The first interactive romantic comedy on Netflix is based on examples such as “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” or “Cat Burglar” and gives the viewer several choices that can be used to decide which path the main character takes in the series.

“Choose Love” on Netflix: viewers decide the actions of the protagonist

“Choose Love” is about recording engineer Cami Conway, played by “Cinderella Story” star Laura Marona. Cami’s life couldn’t seem any better. In addition to her dream job, she has a wonderful boyfriend, Paul (Scott Michael Foster), with whom she is already planning her future. An engagement, children and of course a breathtaking wedding are in the room. But more and more, Cami doubts her previous decisions and wonders if the life she is leading is really what she wants.

“Is she just afraid of missing out on something, or does the associated fear of commitment hit her? Or is she missing out on a steeper career, such as the long-abandoned singing career she once dreamed of?” Series description from Netflix. And Cami is also said to have increasing doubts about their relationship – especially after meeting Rex Galier (“Victorious” actor Avan Jogia), an attractive British rock star, and then her first great love Jack Menna (Titanium member Jordi Webber ) shows up to win her back.

Big and small decisions

Sounds like a real emotional chaos. However, control over Cami’s decisions rests solely with the viewer. Netflix warns: “Be careful! Things don’t always turn out the way you think!” The newly released trailer already gives an initial insight into how the interactive format works.

Cami is seen with a tarot card reader, who reveals to her that she will soon be pulled in different directions. Probably by the three young men who are fighting for their hearts, but maybe also by the viewers, whose choices influence how Cami’s life will continue. In addition to major decisions such as “Choose Paul”, “Choose Jack” or “Choose Rex”, the viewer also decides on smaller moments: “Kiss him” or “Don’t kiss him”, for example, is a choice that is shown in the trailer.

“Choose Love” will be available to stream on Netflix starting August 31, 2023.
