For walkers it is a kind of signpost. One that signals that the walking is about to end and the leisurely part of the promenade is about to begin. The path leads to a beer bench under shady trees, which almost magically gives the impression of having arrived in a front garden of paradise. A feeling of salvation spreads, which becomes more intense with every beer that the flaneur drinks. He always has the wooden tower in view, the monument that announced his arrival, and when the beer unfolds its peculiar effect, it’s as if the wooden giant were swaying.
