China begins its big maneuvers around Taiwan after the visit of Nancy Pelosi
The promised answer is there. The Chinese army began its largest military exercises in decades around Taiwan on Thursday, a strong response to the visit of the leader of the American congressmen Nancy Pelosi on the island. “The exercises are starting” and will continue until Sunday noon (6 a.m. French time), Chinese public television CCTV said in a message on social networks. “During this period, the vessels and aircraft concerned must not enter the waters and airspace concerned”. The Taiwanese army has indicated that it is “preparing for war without seeking war”.

The former baron of Hauts-de-Seine will know if he can finish his sentence at his home in Giverny, in Eure, the end of which is set for April 21, 2023. But the game is far from won: the Last June 30, during a hearing which was held for almost two hours behind closed doors before the sentence enforcement chamber, the public prosecutor’s office opposed his conditional release.
The heat wave hits eastern France
Where is the freshness, where is it? The third heatwave episode of this scorching summer, which is coupled with “drought” vigilance throughout the territory, is shifting this Thursday to eastern France where Météo-France expects up to 36°C in Strasbourg and 38 °C in Lyons. Twenty-six departments placed in orange vigilance from Wednesday, at the peak of this new episode, will remain so for this day on Thursday, from the South-West to Burgundy and Alsace and from Languedoc to the Alps. Fifty others are in yellow on the Météo-France map.
