The marketing promises of the drone manufacturer DJI start off pretty steep. “Just fly,” the company tells customers on its website. The company’s own drones, like those dubbed the Mavic 2, would help see the “big picture”. Sophisticated engineering is combined with the “needs of aerial photographers”. The promises work, the drones sell like hot cakes. DJI is now the largest manufacturer of civilian drones at all. The company, based in the southern Chinese metropolis of Shenzhen, has a global market share of more than 50 percent.
