Children’s stage establishes itself in Haar – district of Munich

In the future, the Little Theater will be even more of a theater for the little ones. The house in Haar recently concluded a cooperation agreement with “Redmann’s Munich Fairy Tale Stage”. “We are very pleased that we have found a partner in the committed ensemble who supports our mission of social cultural work. The program of Redmann’s Munich fairytale stage complements our schedule excellently,” emphasizes Matthias Riedel-Rüppel, director of the small theater in Haar .

Background: In 1967, Heinz Redmann founded the “Münchener Theater für Kinder”, which over the decades has become a popular institution in the city, which has resided on Dachauer Strasse since 1977. In the summer of 2018, the long-time director, who received the “Munich shines” medal that same year, left the theater – not entirely voluntarily and not entirely without discord. In the meantime, some former members who worked there on stage, behind the stage or in administration have joined together in a non-profit association. Heinz Redmann continues to act as director. What Redmann’s fairy tale stage was missing, however, was a permanent venue – this will now be the house in the Haar Art Nouveau Park.

The first chairman of the association, Katharina Redmann, is delighted: “We found a place in the Small Theater Haar where we felt at home from the first visit.” The artistic director, Jochen Streicher, adds: “I saw our productions directly on the beautiful stage of the Little Theater.”

Riedel-Rüppel is pleased that the “house is once again getting a bit more of an ensemble character”. Of course, it will still be a while before the first performance for the small (and of course larger) viewers in Haar. Due to the measures to contain the corona pandemic, those involved have decided not to put the first piece on the boards until autumn 2022. The premiere of the fairy tale “Schneweißchen und Rosenrot” (snow white and rose red) is to be celebrated on October 1st.
